Once in a Blue Moon is a one-of-a-kind experience for music lovers drawn to roots music in its widest sense. Guided by the motto "Live Music Is Better,” the festival celebrates the raw energy and authenticity of live performance at its very core.
In late summer 2026, the festival returns to the atmospheric Zuiderparktheater in The Hague. On Friday, September 4 and Saturday, September 5, the boutique roots festival marks its fourth edition, featuring an exciting lineup that includes headliners The White Buffalo and The 502s.
Nestled in the heart of Zuiderpark, this open-air theater offers a truly unique setting where music and nature become one. With its idyllic surroundings and intimate atmosphere, it’s the perfect new home for Once in a Blue Moon, allowing music lovers to connect with the artists and each other in a way that feels personal and unforgettable. Surrounded by lush greenery, this amphitheater sets the stage for an intimate and immersive festival experience.
- What are the ticket prices?
Tickets for Once In A Blue Moon Festival are exclusively available for purchase through www.ticketmaster.nl. Other websites (such as Topticketshop, Viagogo, Ticketswap) might offer tickets for excessively high prices, but do not provide any guarantee of admission to the festival. Both day tickets and weekend tickets will be available, so you can choose if you join us for one unforgettable day or immerse yourself in the full two-day experience.

On Friday, the doors will open at 4PM and shows will start at 5PM. On Saturday, the doors will open at 2.30PM and shows will start at 3.30PM.
- Is Once In A Blue Moon Festival accessible for people with disabilities?
Once In A Blue Moon Festival is wheelchair accessible. Visitors using a wheelchair can purchase wheelchair tickets via Ticketmaster. The designated wheelchair spaces are located at the bottom of the stands (MIVA platform).
- What is the minimum age to visit Once In A Blue Moon Festival?
We do not have a minimum age requirement, but we recommend that visitors under the age of 16 attend the festival only under the supervision of an adult.
- Is it possible to stay overnight at Once In A Blue Moon Festival?
No, unfortunately, that is not possible as we do not have a festival campsite. However, we can offer a 10% discount at Van der Valk Hotel Delft A4, which is about a 15-minute drive from Zuiderparktheater. To take advantage of this offer, please email [email protected] and mention the code 'OIABM'.

The Zuiderparktheater is located on a small island in the middle of Zuiderpark. The park has multiple entrances: at Vreeswijkstraat, Loevesteinlaan, Melis Stokelaan, and Veluweplein. You can enter through any of these and follow the signs for 'Openluchttheater'. If you're using your smartphone to navigate to the theater, enter Mr. P. Drooglever Fortuynweg 59. Note: This will take you to 'Zwembad Zuiderpark' instead of the Zuiderparktheater, but from there, it's a short walk into the park.
Bikes
There are a limited number of bicycle racks available at the theater. Additional racks can be found in front of the swimming pool on Mr. P. Drooglever Fortuynweg or near the Sportcampus. Bicycles and scooters are not allowed inside.
Public transport
Once In A Blue Moon Festival is easy accessible by public transport from both Central Station and Holland Spoor via:

- Bus 23 (stop: Loevesteinlaan)
- Bus 26 (stop: Moerweg)
To reach the theater, enter the park via the parking lot on Mr. P. Drooglever Fortuynweg, near the swimming pool. This route leads you directly to the entrance of Zuiderparktheater.
Car
We recommend traveling to Once In A Blue Moon Festival by bicycle or public transport. If you choose to drive, parking is available in one of the Q-Park garages. The Zuiderparktheater is also accessible by car via the Melis Stokelaan/Aagje Dekenlaan roundabout, but parking spaces in this area are very limited.
